چکیده

Figure 1: A CT scan 2 years (A) and 14 years (B) after the initial aortic repair. It shows the enlarged prosthesis diameter of 42 mm (black dotted arrows), which has remained stable over time. Compared with the original dimension, the cross-sectional area of the prosthesis increased by 96%, and the prosthesis wall tension by 40%. Figure 2: Reconstructed three-dimensional angiography demonstrating the enlarged aortic prosthesis compared with the aortic root and the proximal aortic arch. White arrows mark the proximal and distal anastomosis site.

Aortic Valve replacement with Reduction Aortoplasty with Mesh Prosthesis in 75 years old with Sever aortic Regurgitation with Aortic Aneurysm

Although classic and standard procedure for patients with ascending Aorta aneurysm with Sever aortic Regurgitation is Bentall surgery but in some selected cases this complex surgery was not performed with different reason like advanced age and coexisting comorbidity involving renal and hepatic and lung Function. In our cases 75 years old man with chronic renal failure ( Cr= 3.2 ) who was known ...

A technique for complete replacement of the ascending aorta.

A technique for complete replacement of the aortic valve and ascending aorta in cases of aneurysm of the ascending aorta with aortic valve ectasia is described. The proximal aortic root was too attenuated to afford anchorage to the aortic prosthesis, so this was sutured to the ring of a Starr valve and the prostheses were inserted en bloc. The ostia of the coronary arteries were anastomosed to ...

The use of a new hybrid stentgraft for the repair of extensive thoracic aortic aneurysms with the frozen elephant trunk method – first Polish experiences

The frozen elephant trunk (FET) technique is a modification of the traditional elephant trunk method, which was introduced by Borst in 1983 in order to treat extensive thoracic aortic aneurysms. The crux of the new method is the different type of aortic prosthesis, consisting of a Dacron part (with or without branches leading to the arterial vessels which exit the aortic arch) and a port for ex...

The aortic root: structure, function, and surgical reconstruction.

Aortic valve insuYciency may be caused by abnormalities of the leaflets, the root, or a combination of both. In some patients, the primary pathology is confined to the aortic root itself, the leaflets remaining anatomically normal. These patients have progressive dilatation of the aortic sinuses and, on occasion, dilatation and distortion of the annulus which results in valvar incompetence. Mos...

Surgery of the ascending aorta: five years' experience at a regional cardiac centre.

Between 1972 and 1978, 31 patients underwent replacement of the ascending aorta, with or without aortic valve surgery, at the Wessex Regional Cardiac Centre. The commonest indications for operation were aneurysmal dilatation of the ascending aorta causing aortic regurgitation and acute dissection of the ascending aorta. Eleven of the 31 patients had features of Marfan's syndrome. The overall ho...
